John Westman is a practitioner and an instructor of professional selling and sales management at Harvard and Boston College. John’s students describe his teaching as “lively and engaging” and his classroom as “a safe, collaborative environment.”
Westman has led commercial efforts—including strategy, sales management, marketing, business development, and strategic partnerships—resulting in improved business results for market-leading and start-up healthcare companies. He is currently co-founder and Executive Vice President of Novellus Inc., a biotech startup.
Prior positions include general manager and vice president of marketing and sales for companies in dermatology, pharmaceutical information, dialysis equipment, and dialysis services. John led U.S. and global marketing and sales training at Baxter Healthcare's Renal division and started his career at a Bain & Baxter joint consulting firm.
He has a BA in French and English from Colgate, an MA in international economics from the University of Wisconsin, an MBA in marketing from Kellogg Graduate School of Management, and is a Fulbright Scholar.
